About Amasra
Amasra is a little Black Sea port town in the Bartın Province, Turkey, once in the past known as Amastris. The town is today much refreshing for its shorelines and normal setting, which has made tourism the most imperative movement for its occupants. In 2010 the populace was 6,500. Amasra has two islands: the greater one is called Buyuk ada 'Great Island', the littler one Tavsan adası 'Rabbit Island'. Arranged in the antiquated area of Paphlagonia, the first city appears to have been called Sesamus and it is made reference to by Homer related to Cytorus.
Stephanus says that it was initially called Cromna; yet in another place, where he rehashes the announcement, he includes, as it is said; however some say that Cromna is a little place in the region of Amastris, or, in other words account. The place got its name Amastris from Amastris, the niece of the last Persian lord Darius III, who was the spouse of Dionysius, dictator of Heraclea, and after his passing the wife of Lysimachus. Four little Ionian provinces, Sesamus, Cytorus, Cromna, likewise specified in the Iliad, and Tium, were consolidated by Amastris, after her division from Lysimachus, to shape the new network of Amastris, put on a little waterway of a similar name and possessing a peninsula.
