About Emperor Valley Zoo
The Emperor Valley Zoo condensed "EVZ" is the greatest zoo in Trinidad and Tobago. It is found North of the Queen's Park Savannah and West of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Port of Spain. The zoo was first opened on 8 November 1952 by Governor Sir Hubert Rance. Around then, there were 10 confines containing 127 creatures, for the most part indigenous species. It currently has an accumulation of more than 2300 people and more than 200 species.
The zoo was named after the huge, blue Emperor or Morpho butterfly which once frequented the valley in which the zoo is arranged. It covers 7.2 sections of land. There are both nearby and outside creatures: lions, ocelots, parrots, macaws and numerous all the more including snakes, caiman, wildfowl giraffes, tigers and others. The classes incorporate little well evolved creatures, huge felines, a reptile house, aquariums, a deer stop, primates and lakes.
The zoo has experienced significant redesigns in the course of recent years, both for upkeep to its current framework to convey it up to worldwide guidelines and in addition in anticipation of increases to its creature stock. These overhauls have been attempted by the Zoological Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
