Among the few Buddhist havens in Chiang Mai, the Wat Umong or "Entry asylum" is uncommon in light of its region in the timberland and its plan of sections. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere at the thirteenth century forest haven close Doi Suthep mountain gives a truly necessary advancement from the much passed by goals in Chiang Mai.
The haven's full name is Wat Umong Suan Phutthatham, which signifies "Asylum of the entries and Buddha Dhamma plant".
