National Museum
About National Museum
It’s historical attraction in Chiang Mai. This Museum was opened in 1973 by the King of Thailand and contains a range of exhibitions about Chiang Mai city’s history as well as the history of the Lanna Kingdom. Or you can say it’s a research center for conservation and dissemination of the cultures and traditions of Chiang Mai and Northern Provinces, which are called together as Lanna. Most interesting thing of this museum is that it offers educational opportunities for visitors. There are three floors, each of which displays items and artifacts related to the Northern Thai cultures and arts. The museum is around 500m north of Wat Jet Yot on the same side of the highway i.e Superhighway, Suthep. You can take tuk tuk from town for both side, since there’s not so many tuk tuks out this way.
Open Every day from 0900 to 1600. Close Mondays and Tuesdays, Songkran Festival and New Year’s Day.
