About Lake Victoria
The first view itself is good enough to humble you. With an area of nearly 70,000 km2, Lake Victoria is the largest freshwater lake in Africa and the second largest in the world. The lake shares area in three countries namely Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. Inside the lake, there are more than 3000 islands, some of which are also inhabited. These islands can be visited and the most popular of them all are the Ssese Islands. Though it is the largest freshwater lake in Africa, it is not too deep. It is only around 100 m at its deepest point. There are number of villages that are inhabited on the coast of the lake which are worth your visit for the colorful culture that is visible here.
