About Cihou Fort
Cihou Fort or Cihou Battery is a memorable fortress in Qijin District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and earlier guarding northern access to Kaohsiung Harbor. The principal fortresses were worked in 1720 when Taiwan was led by the Manchu-drove Qing Empire of China. After the Japanese undertaking in 1874, the Qing specialists built an advanced post, which in 1880 had new Armstrong's weapons installed. It had no influence in the Sino-French War; the battling in Taiwan occurred around Keelung and amid barricade French boats did not approach the port.
Taiwan was surrendered to Japan as per the Treaty of Shimonoseki in the repercussions of the principal Sino-Japanese war.
