Bab al-Maqam

Bab al-Maqam is one of the Gates of Aleppo. The thirteenth century structure was worked by al-Aziz Muhammad. Deviations in its outline from the dominant part of medieval Syrian entryways recommend that its capacity was stately as opposed to military.

In Constructions of Power and Piety in Medieval Aleppo 1997, Yasser Tabbaa subtle elements some of these distinctions, taking note of that they fortify the likelihood that the entryway had fundamentally a religious and political capacity, filling in as tribute to Abraham and appearing differently in relation to the eastern holy places of Mashhad al-Dikka and Mashhad al-Husayn.
