About Bab al-Jinan
Bab al-Jinan Gate of Gardens was one of the entryways of Aleppo that used to prompt gardens on the banks of the river. The door is thought to have been worked by Sayf al-Dawla amid his ownership of Aleppo in the vicinity of 944 and 967. The entryway gave access to the immense royal residence of Halba and patio nurseries that Sayf al-Dawla had worked outside the city. The door was alluded to by Al-Muqaddasi in 985 as The Watermelon Gate, and noted by Alexander Russell in his 1756 book The Natural History of Aleppo.
The door was destroyed around 1900 with a specific end goal to broaden the road. There used to be ious exchangers and capacity houses for products close to the entryway, and a pine going back to the sixteenth century. The door had a pinnacle called the "serpent tower" in which was said to be a charm equipped for shielding from serpent nibbles. Today is the site of a customary souk.
