About Al-Adiliyah Mosque
Al-Adiliyah Mosque or Dukaginzâde Mehmed Pasha mosque is a mosque complex in Aleppo, situated toward the southwest of the Citadel, in "Al-Jalloum" area of the old city, few meters from Al-Saffahiyah mosque. The mosque was supplied by the Dukakinzade Mehmed Pasha in 1556. Dukakinzade was the Ottoman senator general of Aleppo from 1551 until the point when 1553 when he was delegated as representative general of Egypt. He passed on in 1557 and the mosque was not finished until 1565-66 AH 973.
It is thought to be one of the most established mosques of the Ottoman time frame in Aleppo after the Khusruwiyah Mosque. The complex is worked at the southern passage of the secured suq of antiquated Aleppo. The mosque wound up known as the Adiliyya due to its situation close to the senator's castle, the Dar al-Adl, otherwise called the Dar al-Saada.
The mosque has an extensive domed supplication corridor went before by a twofold colonnade. Over the windows on the north side and in the supplication corridor are splendidly shaded tiled lunette boards. These were most likely imported from Iznik in Turkey
