About Thun
Thun is a city and a municipality in the administrative district of Thun in the city of Bern of Switzerland, in which approximately 43,783 residents totaling nearly 90,000, until 31 December 2013. This is where Aare flows from Lake Thun 19 miles south of Burn. Apart from tourism, machine and precise instrument engineering, the country's largest garrisons, food industry, armament and publication are thunderous for economic importance.
In 1264 Thun received the city's rights and in 1384, the city was purchased by Canton of Bern. Thun was the capital of the Canton of Oborland of the Helvetic Republic, which lasted from 1798 to 1803. In 1819 a military school was established in the city, which later developed into the main military school in Switzerland. Thun was connected to the railway network of Switzerland in 1859 and telephone access available in 1888.
The official language of Thun Swiss variety of standard is German, but the main spoken language is the local version of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect. Thun is love at first sight.
