Munchenstein

Munchenstein is a municipality in the district of Arlesheim within the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland. Munchenstein is first cited in 1196 as Kekingen. In 1270, it changed into noted as Geckingen and in 1279 as Munchenstein.1259: The hamlet and the mill, among "Neue Welt" and St. Jakob, are referred to in a deed as being owned by the Basel Dompropstei. Munchenstein has a place, as of 2009, of 7.18 rectangular kilometers.
