Frenkendorf

Frenkendorf is a municipality within the district of Liestal in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland. Frenkendorf is first stated in 1249 as Frenchendorf. Frenkendorf has a place, as of 2009, of 4.6 rectangular kilometers. Of this location, 1.27 km2 or 27.6 in step with cent is used for agricultural functions, at the same time as 1.93 km2 or 42.0 per cent is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.39 km2 or 30.2 consistent with cent is settledand 0.01 km2 or 0.2 per cent is unproductive land.

The municipality is positioned in the Liestal district. The vintage village center is placed on a terrace above the Ergolz valley. After 1854, the settlement of Neu-Frenkendorf grew up inside the valley alongside the Basel-Olten railway line.
