Buchs

Butch is a municipality in Valkeiris in Wardenburg in Canton of St Gallen in Switzerland. It is located on the border with Liechtenstein. Books officially became a city German: Stadt in 2002. Butch was first mentioned as de pogio in the will of the Chur Bishop Telo in 765. In 1213 it was mentioned as Butch, when it was organized by the Counts of the Vardenburg From 1404, the Wardenberg Estates was in the possession of Countts of Montfort, which had been successful in 1483 by Count John Peter of Sachs-Missoux.

In 1517 this area was acquired by the citizens of Glarus who had applied Protestant Reform. Books were included in the Cantt of Linth of the short-lived Napoleon Helvetic Republic from 1798 to 1803, when it was passed in the newly established canton of St. Gallen.
