About Bremgarten
Bremgarten is a municipality which is of Aargau in Swiss Canton. It serves as the seat of Bremgarten district. The medieval old city has been listed as a heritage site of national importance. In 2013, Breitmarten was the first municipality in Europe, which introduced legislation to prohibit those seeking refuge from going to some public places such as libraries, swimming pools, schools and churches. On January 1, 2014 the former municipality of Hermeschwil-Stauffelan merged with the municipality.
Bremgarten's This area was known as Bremerton before 1140, although the city was not established until almost a century later. In 1230, an agreement was established near the present location of Bremerton. Then, in 1238/39 it was referred to as the Bremgarten. In 1258, it was given city rights by Rudolf I of Habsburg. Bremgarten's population grew rapidly, and it became an important market town with an outstanding Latin school. Since this Habsburg was part of the land, residents of Bramgarton fought on Battle of Battle of Morgton and Sampach on behalf of Hegsbourg.
