Bellinzona

Bellinzona is the capital of Canton Ticino in Switzerland. This city has been UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Famous for its three palaces Calgary, Montebello, Sasso Corbo. This city is located east of the Tino River. It is spread along the river valley, which is surrounded by the southern series of the Lepantine Alps in the east and west, and Lugano is in the south by the Fortes. While this area was captured since the early Neolithic era, it was not until the end of the first century, because a fort was built in this area during the reign of Roman Emperor Augustus.

While the fort had become disorganized in the following centuries, it was rebuilt and expanded in the 4th century AD. During Diocletian and Constantin's reign, a series of palaces and guilds were built to protect Northern Italy from invasion. Belin Arizona's location was recognized as an important point in the fort and a great palace was built to protect the walls. The city which was grown around fortifications was known as Bilitio.
