In the beginning of the 17th century, the village of Amarisville was sold to Adam Sanchud of Glories, and in 1665 the hospital was sold to St. Gallen. The authority of the court on the houses of Amriswil, Holzli, Brüschwil and Ruti and Giezenhaus was acquired by the city of Burglen, which was under the control of St. Gallen city. This situation remained unchanged till 1798. In the mid-14th century, Mary was dedicated to the Chapel dedicated to Amrisville. This chapel was part of the parish of Someri.
