About Oskarshamn
Oskarshamn is a coastal city and the seat of Oskarshamn Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 17,258 inhabitants in 2010. The area of Oskarshamn was known as Doderhultsvik since the Medieval age. In 1645, the city of Kalmar, toward the south, made a solicitation to the Royal Government on holding business in the narrows there, which was in truth, giving it merchant rights as a coping.
