Karlskrona

Karlskrona is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with 66,675 inhabitants in 2018. It is also the capital of Blekinge County. Karlskrona is known as Sweden's only baroque metropolis and is host to Sweden's only final naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard.

The town become based on 10 August 16805 when the Royal Swedish Navy was relocated from the Stockholm vicinity to the Trosso island which had up until then been used mainly for farming and grazing. At the time Sweden become the dominant military energy in the Baltic sea location, but wanted a higher strategic location against Denmark, for the reason that southern elements of Sweden have been conquered just a few decades earlier than.
