About Hudiksvall
Hudiksvall is a city and the seat of Hudiksvall Municipality, in Hälsingland, Gavleborg County, Sweden with 15,1/2 inhabitants in 2010. Hudiksvall is also known as Glada Hudik, a term that originated in the nineteenth century as word spread of its pleasant hospitality and its energetic social existence. The town is placed along the E4, on the east coast of Sweden deep inside the bay Hudiksvallsfjarden, approximately 80 km south of Sundsvall and approximately 130 km north of Gavle.
Hudiksvall is Sweden's 76th biggest urban location and additionally the most important city region in Halsingland. Around Hudiksvall lies the groups of Delsbo, Iggesund, Enanger, Forsa and Nasviken. Hudiksvall become based via King John III of Sweden in 1582. He had the inhabitants moved from the town Hudik, where his father Gustav Vasa had collected the alternate- and craftsmen of Halsingland for you to more easily accumulate taxes, to Hudiksvall through the beaches of the bay. At the time, fishing and the buying and selling of furs, skins, iron, copper and timber products were the principle sources of earnings, and the town flourished.
