The Gothenburg Museum of Art at Götaplatsen , Gothenburg , Sweden, The museum holds the arena's best series of late nineteenth century Nordic artwork. A spotlight is the lavishly embellished Fürstenberg Gallery, named after a leading Gothenburg art donor, Pontus Fürstenberg and his spouse Göthilda. Among the artists showcased are P.S. Kroyer, Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors, Edvard Munch, and Anders Zorn. The museum also houses older and modern-day artwork, both Nordic and global. The collection consists of, as an instance, Monet, Picasso and Rembrandt. The Museum has been awarded three stars in the Michelin Green Guide.
The museum building became created for the international exhibition in Gothenburg 1923 by architect Sigfrid Ericson, celebrating the metropolis's three hundredth anniversary, and represents the monumental Neo-Classical style in Nordic structure. It is constructed of a yellow brick referred to as ”Gothenburg brick” due to the cloth's common use within the city.
