About Brunnby Church
Brunnby Church is a medieval Lutheran church approximately 9 km north of Höganäs in southern Sweden. It belongs to the Diocese of Lund. The church is noted for its many 15th-century frescos, attributed to the Helsingborg Workshop. Brunnby takes its name from the spring about 200 m south of the church. Built in the Romanesque style in the mid-12th century, the church to start with consisted of a chancel and nave. Two small windows survive from this period.
In the 15th century, the church changed into extended toward the west in the Gothic fashion, the tower turned into delivered and the ceilings were vaulted. The north arm of the transept called Arild's Chapel changed into possibly brought at the beginning of the 16th century, whilst the south arm or Molle Chapel became completed in 1752.
