One of the most frustrating things about applying for a visa is going through the whole process of application only to be, rejected on a technicality. Below are points to remember when applying for a visa.
The gate to all the 25 European countries can be opened by having Schengen Visa. To save yourself from getting a rejection for the visa, it is important to keep the following things in mind.
1. Criminal Record
Chances of visa rejection are there if one has a criminal record in the past or present. They might end up thinking that t you can possess damage to public policy, internal wealth or their public property.
2. Passport Issues
You need to be sure that your passport is valid for the next three months when you are applying for Schengen Visa. A minimum of two blank pages should also be there for the visa approval stamp. There are fair chances of rejection if your passport has missing or detached pages or the condition of the passport is not up to the mark.
3. Purpose of Stay and Itinerary
The another reason for rejection is when you fail to state the reason of your visit to Europe In the cover letter you need to clearly mention the reason for your visit and for how long you are going to stay there. Other travel details such as booking confirmation of accommodation, tickets and if sponsorship is there, it needs to be attached.
4. Insufficient Fund
Financial statements are important for the approval of Visa. The offices want to know your affordability for the whole trip and you have an adequate amount to come back even. Some people are unable to state the correct financial statements which are the main reason counted for rejection.
5. Travel Insurance
It is mandatory to have travel insurance for Europe when applying for Schengen Visa. The insurance should be valid for your whole trip and it should be of the amount which is stated on the visa form. No insurance or insurance which supports less fund leads to rejection of Visa.
6. Incomplete File
It is very important to attach all the documents which are stated in the Visa form. Incomplete file that is not attaching all the stated documents may lead to rejection of Visa.
7. Other Information
The Visa form should be filled with a black ball point if filling with a pen. The columns in the form which do not correspond to your matter fill not applicable in it. Don’t leave the empty. You should apply for Visa a minimum of 15 days before your trip. Even one month before is suitable. Prior appointment is necessary with the embassy so do take it before hand.
Thus these are some points which should be kept in mind for applying for Schengen Visa.
