1. Angkor Wat
Located in Angkor, Cambodia this Buddhist temple is rich in wonderful Khmer architecture. The temple has got three levels. The 65 metre high tower is located at the centre of this temple. The uniqueness of this temple has placed it into the national flag of Combodia.
2. Khajuraho
It is a, ancient Indian temple of uniqueness regarding sculptures and architecture. Most of the sculptures are sensual and sexually explicit. Out of 85 original temples today only 20 are still in good condition. There are three complexes of temples which are amazing in real sense.
3. Wat Rong Khun
The bright white colour of this Buddhist temple is superb. Maximum elements of this unique temple are symbolic and have some relevance with Buddhist philosophy. The architecture style of this temple includes traditonal Buddhist style as well as modern contemporary art.
4. Borobudur
This lotus like temple is located in Central Java. It is considered as one of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. The temple consists of a large stupa bell known as Sacred Lotus. Total 504 Buddha statues are there in this place.
5. Temple of Heaven
This temple is built to symbolize earth and heaven. The main temple is divided into two parts. The rectangular southern wall of this temple represents earth whereas circular northern wall represents heaven. It is known as the cultural landmark of India.
6. Jetavanaramaya
Jetavana Monastery in Anuradhapura is the home to this famous Stupa. The architectural style of this stupa represents the conflict between Theravada and Mahayana sects of Buddhist monks. Remaining of a belt of Buddha is enshrined here.
7. Shwedagon Pagoda
This 98 meter high Buddhist monument is covered with gold weighing nine tons. There are some wonderful statues in this temple. The night view of this temple is marvelous.
8. Prambanan
This Hindu temple of Indonesia is built to demonstrate the conquest of the religion in Java, Indonesia. The temple has got three buildings which are rich in ancient architectural beauty. More than 250 shrines are located around the temple, which are decorated with natural ornaments.
