- Area - 0.54 sq km.
- It is perhaps the only town in the world with a population of 1.
- The lone resident, 79 year old Elsie Eiler is the mayor and owner of a pub & a library in Monowi.
- The highest population in Monowi was in 1930, with 150 people.
- In the year 2000, the town had a population of 2, comprising of the married couple of Rudy and Elsi Eiler. Rudy Eiler, died in 2004, which halved the population.
- Monowi is the only incorporated municipality in the US with such population.

- Rennes-le-Cheateau is a tiny Catholic village in Languedoc, France.
- It has become a tourist spot because of the various conspiracy theories about a buried treasure dating back to the French Crown.
- Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code was inspired by this conspiracy that made the town popular.
- The history of the village became interesting when in 1885 a poor preacher Francois Berenger Sauniere came in and became a possessor of great wealth.
- He rebuilt an Old Church dedicated to Mary Magdalene in the 11th century.
- The statue of the devil holding holy water, commissioned by the priest, holds interest.
- The entrance of the church has an inscription that reads Terribilis Est Locus Iste that translates as "The Place is Terrible".
- Experts say that most of the history surrounding the town is made up and without proof.

- The town was a refuge for various carnival and circus performers during break seasons.
- Gibsonton has unique circus zoning laws that allow people to park elephants, and circus trailers outside their houses.
- The famous residents of the town included Al Tomiani the giant & Jeanie Tomiani, his wife who was born without legs, Grady Stiles popular as the Lobster Boy.
- Gibtown's post office had a separate counter for the dwarves, the only one of its kind.
