To book an online train ticket, a passenger needs to be aware of the official website of E-ticketing IRCTC.com. IRCTC stands for Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation limited. All the websites requires a username and password for the booking of an E-ticket. If the passenger is using the website for the first time, then they can register themselves by filling username and password details and they will receive a confirmation mail. Or else if a passenger knows their username and password details then they just have to login on the website. The passenger will witness a dialogue box of Plan my travel.

There the passenger needs to enter all the travelling details, like destination and time of travelling, to check the availability of trains on that particular date for that route. The passenger will be directed to a page of search details of all the trains.
