Shonga-tser Lake or known as Madhuri Lake, this lake was formed because of an earthquake in this region resulted in the year 1971. Before the lake, it was a grassland that served the cattle of the locals here. The lake has beautiful snow-capped mountains surrounding it and the valley which offers fantastic views. You will actually feel like going for a walk around the Shonga-tser Lake. For the photographers, this place is a complete joy.
In Tawang, Nuranang Waterfalls is the best place to visit. It is 100 meter-high waterfalls which are situated 40 km away from Tawang. It is also known as Jang Falls since it is close to Jang, a town which is present between Tawang and Bomdila. The origin of the waterfall is from northern slopes of the famous Sela Pass. There is a Hydel power station nearby to it which you can visit.
Bumla Pass at a distance of 37 km away from Tawang. The Indo-China border which is present at 16000 ft altitude is the right place for you to check your fitness level if you are among the adventure lovers. You cannot take your vehicle for the whole way as at a certain point you have to opt for trekking. You may even feel breathless while going as it’s quite chilly over there.
