Odisha Tourism Emphasis On Developing New Tourist Destinations In The State

Odisha is known for its amazing natural beauties that attract people from various parts of the world. Its government has decided to emphasis on boosting the tourism destinations by undergoing project in collaboration with private sector near Puri and Chilika.

Recently it has organized road show in Visakhapatnam where Deputy Director, Odisha Tourism Department, UK Pati said that number of visitors this year is expected to be high as compared to the 1 crore arrivals during the year 2014-15 which was next to the number of tourism in the states like Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. He also said the tourism is increasing by 9.5% every year in this state.

He further stated that keeping this in consideration, master plan has been setup for developing Chilika Lake that will draw great attention of tourists along with Shamuka Beach and Puri. For involving the participation of private sectors in the project, bids are invited and project will be carried out by their support. Moreover, the tourism department of this state is also considering organizing various festivals like Konark festival, international sand art festival, Parab tribal festival, Dhanu yatra festival, Rajarani music festival and Mukteswar dance festival to attract tourism.
