1. Diskit Market
This market is one of the most renowned markets in the Nubra Valley. It is just a 7 km meter from the Hunder town. You can find a variety of clothing here primarily woolen as the temperature of the valley remains cold. You can look out for woolen carpets, rugs, prayer flags, turquoise jewelry, sea buckthorn juice. You can also look out for the most famous Pashmina Shawls. The shawls are being sold in the rest of the country at steep prices and this is the hub for the same so you can bargain and get some good pricing. You would like to take away some memories for this awesome trip and also present gifts to your loved ones. This market will provide a lot of options to choose from, the vibrant use of colors and the use of natural products makes it sure that you will be buying a genuine product from this market. You can start shopping in this market at 9 am and the market closes at around 7 pm.
2. Diskit Curio Shop
This shop is located near to the premises of the ancient Diskit Monastery. This place is famous for its more traditional items and handicrafts. You will also find different artifacts like Buddha statues, canvas paintings, wall paintings. Most of the items which would be available would have a reflection of the Buddhism religion. You may also buy some books to understand the preaching of Buddha and the history, legacy of the monasteries built in the valley. This market opens at 8.30 in the morning and you can last reach out to this market by 7 pm.
3. Panamik Market
This is a spectacular market for Tibetan and Kashmir artifacts. You can look out for beautiful Kashimi carpet, Pashmina Shawls, rugs, cozy woolen socks, and other local artifacts. You can also buy some organic material like apricots, green apples without which your trip will not be complete. Dry fruits like almond, walnut, cashew are also available at reasonable rates. Kashmir region is quite famous for the dry fruits so when you are buying it from the local market you will be the best quality and that too at reasonable prices. You can also buy some Tibetan and Kashmiri relics which can be good souvenirs. The market timings are between 9 am to 7 pm.
