1. Archaeological Survey of India Increases Entry Fees for Monuments

People who often visit various monuments that are under Archaeological Survey of India will have to pay some addition charges in the form of entry fees from April 1, 2016. As per the Ministry, deep consultation was done with stakeholders and operators associations as the charges are revised after 15 years of long time. The officials say that the charges will be increased three fold for all the 32-odd World Heritage Monuments along with protected monuments. The new charges will be increased as compared to current prices as Rs. 10 to Rs. 30 in World Heritage Monuments and from Rs. 5 to Rs. 15 for other protected monuments.

Further, to add to the increasing charges, officials said that the entry fee is doubled for foreign visitors where they have to pay Rs. 500 that was just Rs. 250 before the price revision at world heritage monuments. In other monuments, the charges will be Rs. 200 instead of Rs. 100. Further, Ministry has also announced the newly introduced high value premium tickets where visitors will have free water bottle, wi-fi, mementoes, and CD. These tickets will be @ Rs 750 and Rs. 300 respectively.
