He was just 16 years old and he asked the nearby villagers and his elders about the loss of wildlife and the reason for it. He was explained that due to deforestation these creatures have lost their homes and so they are disappearing. He even asked the forest department for a solution to it He was further answered back to plant trees himself. Thus, this was the time which urged him to plant Bamboo in the area which was being washed away by the floods. For the plantation activity, he located a riverine island on the Bank of River Brahmaputra and started to plan the saplings. For three decades he planted saplings every day. Bamboo platform was built by him on the top of each sapling. This was done to place the earthen pots with small holes on it for the water to drip on the plants. In the year 1980, he worked with the forestry division of Golaghat district where the scheme was launched of tree plantation on 200 hectares of land. He worked there for five years even after the other workers have left. He did everything to convert the area into the forest.
