It was launched as a joint association of Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation to serve the motive of amplifying the tourism in Rajasthan. It ranks 4th in the list of top luxury trains in the world. It has 14 salons that are named after the provinces of Rajasthan, 2 restaurants; Maharaja and Maharani Restaurant. The train has total 14 coaches. Each coach is named as the former Rajput states and represent the aesthetics of the place; Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Dholpur, Dungargarh, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Kota, Sirohi and Udaipur. The train has many exotic facilities like, barm spa, live TV, Internet connectivity.

It covers Delhi-Jaipur- Udaipur- Swai Madhopur- Chittorgarh- Jaisalmer- Jodhpur- Bharatpur- Agra-Delhi routes which takes 8 Days to 13 Days and would bill you 50 Thousand to 5 lakh per person per Journey.

It covers more than 12 destinations across North-West and Central India and is mainly focused on the state of Rajasthan. It operates between the month of October and April.
