Khajuraho, this place stores the glory of Grand Indian History and the Incredible Kingdome of Chandela,
Khajuraho a UNESCO World Heritage sites and one of the seven wonders of India,
Khajuraho The group of temples and its Unique architecture and Artwork of almost 1000 years old.
What else will attract you more to visit any place,
I have been dreaming to visit this place for a long time and finally could able to finalize this trip with the discounted deal on Hellotravel Platform. Unlike my last trip to Bir Billing, this was a solo trip but had become one of the few greatest trips of mine in India.
My berth was booked on UP Sampark Kranti which depart at 20:10 from Hazrat Nizamuddin and take approx 13 hours to reach to Kjahuraho so I reached there at Kkhariraho railway station by 9 am.
The train was on time as usual.sothere was no problem or changes in my today itinerary. I took an auto-rickshaw and reached to my pre-booked hotel in 15 minutes as it was located near Jain temple, Sevagram. traffics was smooth with the conjunction in some small pouches.
My first impression for its city was normal like some other towns but I could see the many foreigner tourists frequently.
1. Temple Vist
After the delicious breakfast at the hotel, I was free to fulfil my dream, why I was so excited you will get to know with my surname Chandel
I was in a mood of saving so I booked a battery-operated rickshaw, in 10 minutes I was there inform fo temple gate, on the way rickshaw operator guided me for some good place to visit as Raneh falls and Benisagar Dam.
It was almost 11 am and there was a long queue for entry tickets, fortunately,
I booked the ticket online so I entered inside the temple without further delay.
Finally, I was in front of the evidence of our grand Indian history, at my first impression Ii could not even think that these monuments are almost 1000 years old.
The group of temples itself are the storyteller of the Kindom of Chandela era, for a few minutes in my mind I really could feel that era, those feelings are just unexplainable.
As these temples are made of sandstone of Ken river which is also 30 kilometres away from this place and each block ware carved separately which you can feel in the temple walls, this has been one the finest artwork in the form of sculpture, this unique creation can not be found anywhere else.
as is entered inside the temple it was a little colder than outside and the some of the walls artwork was not visible I had to use my torch for clear visibility in few places. I would like to tell you one thing that most of the sculpture on the walls has been faded only a few are left and clearly visible.
I have been travelling to many places which are known for there artwork only but this place is completely differing that those places, I could meet with a group of students who were doing the study and research on Khajuraho were also supported my point as they got sufficient stuff for there projects.
I spent approximately 4 hours, exploring the different temples and could capture approximately 150 images of different locations, I could also get to know that this place has become one of the popular places for the prewedding shoots in last few years.
temple premisses have been managed properly and you can buy mineral water, cold drink, chips etc this will surely help you during the marathon walk from one temple to other, yes one more thing I will add that no one can enter in the temple wearing shoes, will suggest you wear some casual shoes during the temple visit.
2. Light and Sound show
cIt was evening 6 pm and I could feel some extra gathering inside the temple premises, I was also very eager to see the Light and Should Show of Khajuraho temple, as this is been the one of the major attractive activity, conducted by MP tourism and the archaeological survey of India authorities of the temple committee.
Yes Like other monuments here also it is a paid activity and The ticket cost for India tourist is INR 200 and for Foreigner INR 500 and its half is applicable for child ticket.
At exactly 6: 30 Pm the show started with some updates n the show followed by Sanskrit Shloka. For the next 90 minutes, one will automatically reach to that golden era as this is beautifully presented with the ledger lights and the described by the incredible voice of legendary actor Mr Amitabh Bachchan.
I will surely recommend every tourist to participate in this show to understand the complete history of this place.
Once this completed it was my routine time for dinner and so without further delay, I searched for Madras Coffee House as this place was in my list for dinner.
I Reached there in 15 minutes and what is see! A normal-looking restaurants but fully packed with the tourists, I had to wait for approx 15 minutes to book my seal there.
But all my hard wait was worth for the Uttapam and the Masala dosa I took,
The way of servicing at most of the south Indian restaurant is almost similar and here also Anti Ji who was heading the restaurant at that were very humble and ask for the feedback from almost every guest, I asked for coconut chutney thrice as this has been my all-time favourite.
This is an economical restaurant with super hygiene I only paid INR 230 for my Dinner at this place
I will recommend this place to have the tase of original south Indian dishes.
3. DayTour With Shopping
As last day was a fully packed day so got little fired because of too much walk in the temples. I wake up a little late today.
After breakfast, I headed towards the city to explore and could find a good guide come, rikshaw operator, for me rikshaw has been always the best option the market visit, it is best for its normal speed and parking too and one can easily see the sights 360 degrees sitting in it,
We went to Rajinagar Market which was a normal market like other tourist places, Many local shops for traditional woodwork, gift items and regional cloths.
Suddenly my eyes saw something relevant to me, and I asked to rikshaw operator to stop, I found a shop of Rajput Turbans, I bough two turbans one for me and another for my nephew and also has some quality discussion with the Owner of Singh Turbans Mr Jai Pratap Singh,
he beefed me about the market and also the value of this market on Tuesday, this is the most famous weekly market od Khajuraho and also remains very crowded on Tuesday.
Near to this shop only I could find some better options for handmade crafts and an antique dummy of Khajuraho temples, I added 1 temple for my office desk as this place a given a personal touch to me.
wanted to explore more about this city but was lacking with the time as my train time was 4: 30 pm so I moved towards the station road for the lunch as this was a much convenient option for me.
Finally, I could complete my most awaited trip for Khajuraho but I also made up my mind to come here again with the group tour,
