In Himachal Pradesh, Palampur is an unusual place which has a number of teagardens, but it is just the one feature. The city is also famous for its mild climate and great quantity of water as it lies in the lap of mountains. In fact, the word Palampur city name is derived from the local word palum which means an abundance of water. The area close to the city acts as a channel for several streams of water from the Dhauladhar mountains to the plains. This results in lots of water streams across the city. The rainy season is a little bit heavy in contrast to the other parts of Kangra valley as it is present near to Dharamsala just about 30 KM, the city that receives the maximum amount of rainfall in Himachal Pradesh.

Saurabh Van Bihar: For a relaxing and enjoyable time you must visit this park. It is covered by lush greenery and mountains. The park has water bodies, Picnic Sheds, Children Park etc. Thus it is a complete entertainment zone.
Jakhani Devi Temple and Chamunda Devi temple- They are famous temple which is at a distance of 5 km and 10 km from the city respectively.
Gopalpur Zoo: Gopalpur zoo is just 10km from Palampur which is situated on Palampur Dharamshala Road. It has a great number of species of animals and birds
Baijnath Shiva Temple: This ancient temple is actually 1000 years old which is situated at Baijnath and is just 16 km from the city. May devotees of Lord Shiva come here.
