1. Ilha de Queimada Grande
A small 110-acre island near the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil, is home to more than 4,000 deadly snakes, is considered the "Deadliest Island In The World". It is also referred to as 'Snake Island'. Some reports suggest that you can find one snake per square meter here.

This island is home to an endangered and one of the most venemous snakes in the world, a species of pit viper called the Golden Lancehead Viper.

Wikipedia lists the effects of this snake bite as "swelling, local pain, nausea and vomiting, blood blisters, bruising, blood in the vomit and urine, intestinal bleeding, kidney failure, hemorrhage in the brain and severe necrosis of muscular tissue."
Because of their vast and deadly presence on the island - as many as one snake per square meter - the Brazilian Navy forbids anyone from landing on the island, with the only exception being certain scientific groups and the Brazilian Navy which maintains a lighthouse on the island.
