4. Matheran
Matheran is a hill station in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It is about 85 kms from Mumbai or approx. a 2 hour journey from there. It is also the smallest hill station in India. Motor vehicles are completely banned in Matheran, making it quite peaceful and serene. 5. Panchgani
A hill station situated in Satara district in Maharashtra, Panchgani is thronged by paragliding enthusiasts. It derives its name from the five hills that surround it and is about 250 kms or a 4 hour 20 mins journey from Mumbai.
