Applying For A Passport? Here Is A List Of Important Documents Required

 

Passport is an important thing when we talk about an identity proof which is valid all over the world. The Adhaar card, driving license, will not be accepted when you visit some foreign country but Passport is the only proof which is counted. So having a Passport is a must. If you want to travel abroad then only this will be the thing majorly required. So getting a Passport requires certain formalities to be fulfilled. You need to submit certain documents for the same. Given below is the list of those documents require for the passport. Which you need when you go for the filing process.
 

1.  First you need to choose the option Tatkal or Normal Passport. When you are in an urgent need of passport then choosing Tatkal option is good. It will help you to get a passport quick as compared to the normal one. Even the fees would be little more for Tatkal then Normal one. So you need to pay Passport Tatkal fees for this.

 

2. Next is the category you belong too. If you are an adult then certain documents are to be submitted but if you are applying the passport for minors then you need to submit the proof of your guardian that is the proof of both parents plus parents need to attest the documents which they have to submit.

 

3.  Date of Birth proof- This is a proof which clearly states you the date of birth. For this, you can submit any of these documents. They are Adhar Card, school leaving certificate/ Secondary school leaving certificate, Birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Declaration given by the Head of the Orphanage/Child Care Home on the official letterhead confirming the date of birth of the applicant, Policy Bond issued by the Public Life Insurance Corporations/Companies which contains the date of birth of the holder, Driving license,PAN Card, Election Photo Identity Card, Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar.

 

4.  Next is addressing proof. For that, you can submit any of these documents. They are Photo Passbook of running bank account in any public sector bank, private sector bank and regional rural banks, water bill,  Election Photo ID card, Landline or Postpaid mobile bill, Proof of Gas Connection, Election Photo ID card, Spouse’s passport copy First and last page of the passport that includes the details of the family and mentions applicants name as spouse of the passport holder, Certificate from Employer of reputed companies on letterhead, Income Tax Assessment Order, Aadhaar card, Electricity Bill or Rent agreement

 

Thus these are the documents required for passport. Other then this for the people who have lost their passport or there is some other issue such as a change of address, change of identity or it is expired then you need to get your passport renewed.  You should get the passport renewed before date. In that case, the list of documents is different. Even your previous passport would be required along. In case you have lost your passport then you also need to submit a copy of FIR for the same. You can also consult passport seva website for the same. Do pay the passport fees for the processing.
