1. Snow Church, Germany
Located in Bavaria, the small Catholic Church is built entirely of ice and snow. The ice structure nicknamed as'God's Igloo' was built in 2011, by the villagers of Mitterfirmiansreut. The church is 65 feet in length and comprises of 49,000 cubic feet of snow and ice slabs. The beautiful ice sculpture is illuminated with bright blue light.
2. Bone Church, Czech Republic
The Sedlec Ossuary also known as Bone Church is one of the most unusual churches around the world. The small chapel located in Kutna Hora, is artistically decorated with human bones. More than 40,000 human skeletons are used to create furnishings and decorations for the chapel. One of the most creative works inside the church is an enormous chandelier, which hangs in the center of the chapel. The unique chapel has become a magnet for tourists. It attracts nearly 200,000 visitors every year.
3. Lego Church, Netherlands
Also known as Abondantus Gigantus, the Lego church is a temporary structure built in 2011 in the city of Enschede.
4. Organic Church, Italy
Situated in the outskirts of Bergamo, the Tree cathedral is one of the most magnificent examples of organic architecture. The cathedral made only of trees is spread over an area of 650 square meters. The amazing monument consists of fir trunk columns, chestnut and hazelnut branches.
5. Cross Island Chapel, New York
Located in Oneida, the Cross Island Chapel is the world's smallest church. The church rests on a wooden platform in the middle of a pond. Built in 1989, the small chapel measures only 3ft by 6ft. It can accommodate up to 3 people. The church is open to the public and also available for special occasions. Ceremonies can be scheduled by prior appointment.
6. See-through Church, Belgium
The stunning structure is made of 2000 columns and 100 stacked layers of steel plates. The transparent design lets in the sunlight. The interiors of the church change, according to the different positions of the sun. The chapel may seem to disappear completely or look totally solid, depending on the viewpoint.
7. Inflatable Church, Netherlands
The inflatable translucent church measures 5m by 8m. It can accommodate up to 30 people. The temporary structure is easily deflated and popped up at various festivals and private and public events.
8. Cliff Church, Georgia
The unique church is situated on the top of 130 ft high Katskhi pillar. The church was built between 6th and 8th centuries. A rusty creaking 131 foot ladder, know as the 'stairway to heaven' is used to climb up and down the pillar.
