1. Formula 1
-F1 races are contested by single-seat cars that are the fastest in the world. -Drivers and manufacturers participating in these expensive races adhere to a "Formula" or set of rules to participate in Grand Prix (French for "great prize") held in different parts of the world.
2. Derby
-An elite sport, India is home to McDowell's Derby, a yearly event held in Mumbai that is attended by the who's who of the country. -This horse racing event is held on the first Sunday of February at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai, India.
3. Polo
-Polo is a team sport played on horseback. -The objective is to score goals against an opposing team. -Players score by driving a small white plastic or wooden ball into the opposing team's goal using a long-handled mallet.
4. Golf
-India was the first country outside Great Britain to take up the game of golf. -The Royal Calcutta Golf Club, established in 1829, is the oldest golf club in India and the first outside Great Britain. Because of the British rule, the eighteenth century saw a mushrooming of new golf clubs in India.
5. Shooting
-A traditional sport, shooting has come a long way in India, from just being confined to the maharajas of the erstwhile princely states of the country, to a sport that has gained immense popularity amongst the young sports enthusiasts. -Success of shooters like Abhinav Bindra and Rajyvardhan Singh Rathore on the international stage has brought a lot of recognition to the sport and an increasing number of aspirants are taking up shooting as a sport.
