About The Big Buddha

On the top of a hill looking out over the city of Kandy you will find a giant Buddha statue. It’s part of a small temple complex with a few room for offering and different statues in them.

The main attraction to go up the hill to the giant Buddha is the beautiful view of Kandy. Even from the ground level you’ll have a great view of the city. Here you move up to the top of the statue the view is getting gorgeous. You’ll see all the city and lake with the famous Temple of the Tooth.

Here, You can walk up to the statue on foot from the centre of Kandy or you can take a tuktuk, It is a short ride hence a tuktuk shouldn’t be too expensive.
