About Anchar Lake

Anchar Lake is a lake in surprisingly deteriorated situation positioned n the city of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Situated near Ganderbal, the lake is attached with the well-known Dal Lake via a channel "Amir Khan Nallah", simply because the Dal-gate connects Dal to the Nagin Lake. In case of flooding, the excessive water of Dal is diverted here. Once a famous visitor destination as vacationers on shikaras and houseboats used to journey here from Dal Lake, over the years it has deteriorated thanks to pollution, huge scale encroachment, and illegal structures in its surroundings.
