About Adisham Monastery
This delightful Benedictine religious community once had a place with tea grower Sir Thomas Lester Villiers.
To reproduce his English way of life, he built up some English nation bungalow gardens, which are as yet charming guests today.
Inside, guests are permitted to see the parlor and library, which is filled from floor to roof with dusty tomes. On the off chance that you like the cloister so much you need to stay, well, you can, as there's a little guesthouse.
No photography is allowed inside the building.
Today, Adisham is one of just 18 cloisters on the planet having a place with the Sylvestrine Congregation, a suborder of the Benedictine organization established in the thirteenth century.
There's a little shop offering produce from the cloister's beautiful greenhouses and plantations. Get some wild guava jam or soursop heartfelt to enthusiasm up your next guesthouse dinner.
