About Xativa Castle
Xativa Castle is a palace situated in the city of Xativa close Valencia, Spain. It is deliberately situated on the antiquated roadway Via Augusta driving from Rome over the Pyrenees and down the Mediterranean drift to Cartagena and Cadiz. In 1092, the palace fell into the control of the Almoravid tradition who were ousted in an uprising that occurred in 1145. Amid this uprising, the manor was attacked by the Governor of Valencia, Marwan Abd-al-Aziz. In 1171, the Castle at long last fell, alongside whatever remains of the Levante drift, under the control of the Almohads.
Ruler James I of Aragon started his campaign there in the mid year of 1239, at last catching Xativa on 22 May 1244, after a 5 month attack. In the wake of submitting to the Christian ruler and marking the Treaty of Xativa the Moors gave over the littler adjacent Castle to James I, while they were permitted to keep involving the bigger chateau for an additional two years dependent on the terms of the bargain. After the 2 years had slipped by King James I of Aragon repopulated an extensive piece of the town with Catalan and Aragonese pioneers. Explore and experience this place more.
