Amid the Al-Andalus Islamic time, Arabs conveyed the innovation to make paper to Xativa. In the 12th century, Xativa was known for its schools, instruction, and learning circles. Islamic researcher Abu Ishaq al-Shatibi's last name alludes to Xativa where he lived and died. Xativa is based on the edge of a fruitful plain, and on the southern slants of the Monte Vernissa, a slope with two pinnacles delegated by Xativa Castle.
