Tavernes de la Valldigna
About Tavernes de la Valldigna
Tavernes de la Valldigna is a region in the Valencian Community, Spain, situated in the area of Safor, 54 km far from Valencia. It is the greatest town in La Valldigna, a horseshoe shape valley circumscribed by mountains on the west and the Mediterranean Sea toward the east. Tavernes picked up a City title in December 1916, by King Alfonso XIII. The civic chairman is Jordi Juan Huguet. Situated in the north-east of la Safor area, it is 56 km a long way from Valencia, at the east piece of the Valldigna valley. On the north the Massalari valley and the Agulles mountains, with two pinnacles called Les Creus 540 m and Massalari crest 598 m, the Monduver top is situated toward the south.
The valley has a stream called Vaca. The city is found 15 meters above ocean level, and has magnificent shorelines and touristic mountain courses. The closest urban areas are: Cullera, Favara, Benifairo de la Valldigna and Xeraco in the region of Valencia. The Valley Tower, otherwise called Torre de guaita or Torre de la Vall is near the principle access to the shoreline part of town, worked in the 16th century. The area church of Saint Peter is situated at the focal point of the city, near the Town Hall.
