Santa Semana

Heavenly Week in Seville is known as Semana Santa de Sevilla. It is one of the city's two greatest yearly celebrations, the other being the Feria de Abril April Fair, which takes after two weeks. It is commended in the week paving the way to Easter Holy Week among Christians, and highlights the parade of pasos, buoys of similar wooden figures of individual scenes of sorrowfull Mysteries of the Rosary, or pictures of the lamenting Virgin Mary.

The Semana Santa festivity in Seville is a standout amongst the most energizing celebrations in Spain. Following hundreds of years old conventions, the Catholic fraternities cofradías and hermandades from the diverse quarters of the town take an interest in expand parades. Clad in penitents' attire, they convey amazing buoys that show luxuriously enriched figures of holy people.

The principle parade is the eve of Good Friday and on Good Friday morning. The services held in the house of prayer amid Holy Week are especially awe inspiring.
