About Premia de Mar Textile Printing Museum
The Premia de Mar Printing Museum positioned in the old fuel factory of the metropolis, is a museum dedicated to explaining the history of fabric printing in Premia de Mar and all of Catalonia. It is a part of Science and Technology Museum of Catalonia and the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network. Its fundamental objective is to expose samples and gadgets associated with fabric printing and to provide an explanation for the techniques used over time, as well as to highlight the critical role that this economic hobby has performed within the past as a driving force of industrialisation in Catalonia.
On 14 April 2002, new centers have been opened at the fuel works, an Art Nouveau and Neoclassical building built in 1884. It is the only coal gasoline works nevertheless standing in Catalonia. In 2005 the permanent exhibition turned into opened, which displayed the numerous textile printing strategies and their evolution from the 18th century up to the modern. Some fabrics and dresses from the generation in addition to reproductions can also be visible.
