Pinto is a municipality which turned into a town in the 1990s and is in the south of the autonomous group of Madrid, central Spain. Some time ago, the conviction was that Pinto sat on the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula, hence its name originates from the Latin Punctum, "point".
