Peligros

Peligros is a municipality placed inside the province of Granada, Spain. According to the 2013 census, the town has a population of 11126 inhabitants. It is placed subsequent to Pulianas, Maracena, Albolote, Calicasas and Güevejar. It includes a small urbanization referred to as Monteluz. Peligros is one of the 52 entities that compose the Metropolitan Area of Granada. In 2013 it had 11,126 inhabitants. Its floor location is set 10 km² and it has populace density of 1097,24 hab/km². It is at an altitude of 680 meters above sea stage, and is five km from the centre of Granada.

The name of the municipality comes from the word Paluculum, a Latin term of the Roman Empire. This phrase manner "place where you could discover a lake with risky floods of water". Some centuries after, the Muslims transformed the region, and renamed it as "Bericulos". Finally, the name was prompted in Peligros by way of the Spanish language. It is thought that there had been Roman settlements, and throughout the Muslim domination it became a farmstead from "La Vega". In 1431, it occurred the battle of "La Higueruela" among Christians and Muslims. Here, the navy of Granada misplaced greater than 10,000 men.
