About Naval Museum
The Naval Museum of Cartagena was opened on July 8, 1986. It is an auxiliary of the Naval Museum of Madrid. The Cartagena Naval Museum is a military gallery situated close to the city port of Cartagena, Spain, and presents presentations identified with maritime development. The first building was worked under the bearing of the draftsman Lorenzo Ros in 1926. Originall the building was utilized by the School of Apprentices of the Spanish Society of Naval Construction.
The changed its name in 1947 to be called National Company Bazán . For a few years it turned into the school Our Lady of the Rosary. Later the Navy recouped the building and changed over it to the maritime exhibition hall. The position of chief was held by Captain Luis Delgado Bañón until January 8, 2011 when he resigned. The present chief is the commander of ship Jorge Madrid.
