About Municipal Museum of Algeciras
Municipal Museum of Algeciras is a museum in Algeciras, Spain, located on the northern stop of the Parque de las Acacias de Algeciras. It became installed in 1995 and is run via the city's cultural department. It houses a big collection of archaeological items which were found in different parts of the city. With its two foremost divisions, archaeology and records, the museum files three intervals inside the town's records: Roman-Byzantine Algeciras, the Andalusian metropolis, and the modern era. A 1/3 department, spiritual artwork, is located within the Capilla del Cristo de l. A. Alameda.
The museum was a end result of work executed by using the Comision Pro-Museo Historico-Arqueologico. The items located at construction sites across the town supplied a basis for documenting local history. When the museum became installed in 1981, the Committee's artefacts have become a part of its collection even though it changed into a while earlier than they will be displayed. The Municipal Museum of Algeciras is located inside the old metropolis, near the Parque de Las Acacias, at the corner of Ortega y Gasset and Goya. A colonial building referred to as the Casa de los Guardeses which had served the Villa Smith, become renovated in 1995 to suit the needs of the museum.
